The custom design process
Our process is unique, thorough, and personalized—and you get to be an integral part of it! You can be as involved as you want to be throughout the process.
Please feel free to come in with your own ideas, whether it’s inspiration from a piece you’ve seen on display or something you found on the internet. However, we ask that you keep an open mind, as our expert jewelers may show you a design that is different from your initial idea.

Custom designing an engagement ring
Once your style and rough draft idea have been locked down, we will request a CAD (computer-aided design) rendering. This will give us a visual of the measurements and precise design of the ring. From there, we 3D print a wax mold of the ring so you can hold it in your hands to get a feel for the scale. Before we move on to the final casting process, we will make any and all adjustments, ensuring you walk away with the exact engagement ring design you had in mind. Once the design is finalized, we will cast your ring using the lost wax casting method, where we pour the metal for the band into the mold. And finally, one of our jewelers will clean up the band and set each stone in position before giving you your perfect, custom-designed engagement ring.
Custom designing a family heirloom
This one is different from the engagement ring process, as you will already have the piece or the materials to make the piece. Oftentimes, our customers have had these heirlooms for years and just don’t wear them anymore. You can take the stones from these pieces and put them in a new piece that you will wear. Our team will follow the same process of gathering inspiration, looking at models, and then casting a brand-new piece. It’s usually more cost-effective to do it this way rather than repairing the piece you currently have, so it’s a win-win.
